A Warhammer 40,000 Dark Angels "Land Raider" matte painting for Sabertooth Games [link] which is an arm of the Games Workshop [link] family. It is destined to be a collectible game card in the "Horus Heresy" game.
It's finally done. It was an interesting ride painting this. I suffered through a terrible flu early on in the process, then I had some surgery (very minor, skin only The ground and the sky incorporate parts from real photos, thus this is classified as a 'matte' painting. Everything else is completely hand painted in Photoshop 7, however. With all the repaints, it probably took upwards 16-17 hours to do. Blah eh? I want to get that number way down for future ones. If anything, I think the angle is rather bland. So 'typical'. I'm going to try and be creative in the future. I hope it brings you a deep sense of gothical warfare watching it. |

I do my thing,
And you do your thing.
I am not in this world
To live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world
To live up to mine.
You are you and I am I,
And if by chance we find
Each other, it's beautiful.
-Dr. Frederick S.
I'm reading the novelisation of the Dawn of War game at the moment too, so this is a pretty cool visual to have along with the images in my head as I'm reading lol.

I have never read any novels from w40k, just fluff I found online from source books and articles from the White Dwarf magazines.. it's completely addicting. Are the novels similarly good?
